Sustainable skincare start-up, Skin Sapiens smashed its three-year revenue target within two and a half years from launch with a purposefully simple brand and packaging design.

In only 16 months, a small start-up transformed into a major national pet food brand, achieving distribution in over 1,000 locations across 45 US states with the aid of striking design.

The challenge was to take ‘left-overs’ of India’s meat industry to the sophisticated US pet food market. But dried ears and jerky have long been available in pet stores. Lewis Moberly’s design would need to differentiate the brand from competitors and enable it to become a top-tier player.

Newby Teas is an established player in the top end of the global tea market, but its Classic Tea Collection range – which is sold at nine times the price of a traditional cuppa – was struggling to break into mass UK retailers.

Although the product was highly rated, its design wasn’t reflecting the true quality of the tea and the Collection was being rejected because of a lack of distinction and appeal. A brand redesign was required to relaunch the Collection and to achieve the primary objective of distribution in Sainsbury’s.

Newby Teas had high quality, award-winning products, but their packaging failed to reflect this. Aiming to gain distribution and sales in Waitrose, in addition to establishing Newby Teas as a brand leader in the premium tea market, a redesign was undertaken.

The Johnnie Walker Collection (JW Collection) comprises a range of 20cl premium Scotch whisky bottles housed in an attractive outer pack. Global Travel Retail sales are a major contributor to revenue for Diageo. They requested a redesign to solve concerns over the packaging quality, and also to heighten the product’s premium feel and boost revenue in this environment following a price increase.
