The staple range of Hall & Woodhouse, Badger has over 125 years of heritage, and at the time of brief was already the fourth largest premium bottled ale in the UK. With aspirations for growth, BrandOpus were called in to fix Badger’s inconsistent identity.
By taking the ale back to its rustic roots, BrandOpus created a brand story that guided consumers through the entire Badger portfolio. This new identity rejuvenated the brand, without excluding the established consumer base. Every aspect of the company was connected with the new style, from bottle structure to beer mats, to an industry-first reusable pump clip.
Within 31 days, the rebranding had paid for itself. A £1.7 million increase in sales has been further bolstered by a 40% increase in brand loyalty, and Badger have bounced to third in the premium ale market, offering them the perfect platform from which to expand their range.
