Manx Telecom is a telecommunications and IT service provider to the Isle of Man and, increasingly, to the rest of the world. But in 2010, with HG Capital recently taking ownership, it set a new growth agenda and employed Conran Design Group to help fulfil this through a brand refresh.
Conran Design Group held numerous stakeholder workshops and put forward a brand positioning statement called Think Beyond. Using this collective brand identity, they modernised all of Manx Telecoms’ customer touchpoints, including literature, signage, uniforms, merchandise, sponsorship and a brand new flagship store with consistent and recognisable branding.
The new retail space helped build on customer interaction with the rejuvenated brand. As a result, in-store footfall increased by 42% and core business revenue was up 5.2% in the six months following the launch. Its impact was also felt by the next generation, who were key players in helping Manx Telecom win the Christmas smart phone market in 2011 and 2012.
