What started as new packaging design grew into a whole rebrand for Selwyn’s, a family-run seaweed snack producer in Wales. For years, major retailers had rejected Selwyn’s for its out dated packaging but with the surge in demand for natural healthy food, the business was determined to create a brand that would catch retailers’ eyes.
Using intelligent strategic thinking and unearthed company heritage, a new brand was formed. Up against strong competition, Selwyn’s required more than just new packaging, so a whole new customer journey, including a new website, was created firmly putting them on the healthy-food map and leading to an increase in distribution of 1100% in the first 10 months. Sales jumped from £3k to £50k and Selwyn’s have hired four local people to help them keep up with demand.
Today Selwyn’s is stocked in UK multiples such as Ocado, speciality stores such as Selfridges and health food stores such as Whole Foods, amongst others.
