Cawston Press smashed its business growth target by 25% and doubled export sales with its Sparkling Cans. Despite a declining market, Cawston Press managed to become a key player in the sparkling soft drink category. That’s particularly impressive for a small company with no heritage in carbonated drinks.
The design of the Sparkling Cans aimed to convey its good quality and natural ingredients to help the products stand out against the likes of San Pellegrino and Coca-Cola. An inspired design on a cream background with bold lettering, minimal imagery and distinctively British tone of voice created a sense of nostalgia and contemporary appeal.
It worked, growing the business by 57% - smashing targets by 25% - with the Sparkling Cans representing 72% of this growth.
Cawston Press is now sold in Waitrose, Boots and WH Smith Travel, as well as lots of independent cafes, and they’ve grown their team from 6 to 16 in two years.
